Mike Sowers, Sr. Consultant, Great Commissions Partnerships with NC Baptist Missions, joined us this morning at FBCS and brought a riveting message. He shared with us the invitation to missions that Jesus gave to us in Acts 1:8, John 1:47, and Mark 1:16. He spoke the words from the Holy Spirit this morning that should have stirred every heart to re-evaluate their relationship with Jesus. He shared that missions should come from the worship that we give to God, not serving then worshiping. Our entire service and life should be directed out of the love and worship we have towards Jesus. Mike reminded us that if our focus is on God then serving and giving and missions is like breathing, second nature. However, he points our that we are more focused on ourself to see the real calling of Jesus. Acts 1:8 is not a request it is a command. Thank you Mike Sowers for your surrender to the Holy Spirit to deliver a message that made us uncomfortable. Mike will be leaving for Toronto to take pastors in the partnership for planting churches in Canada.
